Vector Illustration – Tesla Roadster prototype
This is a manually redrawn vector illustration of a Tesla Roadster prototype.
This is not the kind of everyday work we would normally do as we mainly redraw logos into vector. This was only created for fun and to show what can be achieved using vector editing software such as Adobe Illustrator or CoralDraw.
These type of realistic vectors do take quite a bit of time to create because of the amount of detail and gradient colours used.
This illustration was created using only solid colours and gradient colours. No other special effects were used. These shading effects can also be achieved using blends and the ‘Gradient Mesh Tool’. But we prefer to stick with flat colours and gradients for simplicity and portability. For example, it reduces the chances of running into problems such as opening in different software or sending to a printers for production.

Really cool! In the wireframe view I like the way that there aren’t too many lines.

Thanks for the comment. Yes we try to draw as ‘clean’ as possible by not drawing unnecessary lines. This also keeps the file size down.
