How to create an exploding heart effect
The Adobe Illustrator Mezzotint Effect is a great tool for creating interesting visual effects. This effect is used in graphic design and illustration to add texture and depth to designs. The Mezzotint Effect produces a pattern of dots, which can be used to create a range of effects from subtle halftones to intense, high contrast images. It can also be used to create a dispersed, or “splattered” effect, where the dots appear to be randomly scattered across the image.
We used the effect combined with a gradient in our example, to show how it can be applied to a heart shape to create an exploding or eroding space effect.
Check out another dispersion video showing other uses for this effect.
