The detail in the original ‘whelk’ jpeg had to be simplified slightly as the detail was too small to see. But the redrawn version would more suitable when used for other purposes such as signage, T-shirts or vinyl cutting etc.
The ‘flourishes’ in this design is one design replicated and mirrored 4 times. This will make it easier for us to redraw and we would take that into consideration when providing a quote.
For this example the original was in quite a bad state, but as long as we can see the main shapes of the letters it can usually be salvaged.
This client requested that the main letters were to be made bolder, to make it print better. Also we couldn’t see the small text clearly enough to redraw it accurately (above main letters), so the client supplied a clearer version of just that section, which we could work from.
To manually redraw the rope in this example, would be very difficult and also time consuming. To make things easier and also keep the cost down for the client, we created a ‘Pattern Brush‘ in Illustrator.
