The short answer

An email signature usually needs a small raster image of TikTok's icon, typically a PNG with a transparent background, linked to your TikTok profile. Vector files such as SVG, EPS, PDF or AI make the best master artwork, but email clients support SVG inconsistently. The file you place in the signature is therefore usually a raster image exported from the vector source, not the vector itself.

Which TikTok logo is meant here

TikTok's branding includes a standalone icon, the musical-note shape with offset cyan and red-pink edges, and a wordmark that pairs the icon with the name. Signatures normally use the icon alone because it sits alongside other social icons at a small size, where a wordmark becomes hard to read. Some signature designs use a single-color icon, in black or white, to match a monochrome row of icons. Whether TikTok permits a monochrome version, and in what form, should be confirmed in TikTok's own brand guidance.

Vector artwork versus the image in your signature

Asset | What it is | Role in an email signature
Vector file (SVG, EPS, PDF, AI) with real paths | Shapes defined mathematically, so they scale without quality loss | The master source you export from; rarely placed in the signature directly because email clients support it unevenly
PNG exported from the vector | Raster image made of pixels, with optional transparency | The usual file to place in a signature; looks clean on any background color
JPG | Raster image without transparency | Works on a solid white background, but shows a box or rough edges on other backgrounds
Vector-format file containing an embedded bitmap | A pixel image wrapped inside an SVG, EPS or PDF container | Looks like vector because of the file extension but does not scale cleanly; a weak source for exports

A file extension alone does not prove that a file contains editable vector paths. To check, open the file in a vector editor and inspect it in outline or path view. If the logo shows up as a single embedded image instead of separate shapes, treat it as raster artwork.

Preparing the file for a signature

  • Start from an official vector or high-resolution asset rather than a screenshot or a redrawn copy.
  • Export a PNG with a transparent background at about twice the size it will display. Then set the display width and height in the signature so the icon stays sharp on high-density screens.
  • Match the icon's size and padding to the other social icons in the signature so the row looks even.
  • Add alt text such as "TikTok". Many email clients block images until the recipient allows them, and the alt text tells them what the missing image is.
  • Link the icon to your TikTok profile, since pointing readers to your account is the reason the icon is there.
  • Check how the icon looks against both light and dark backgrounds. Many email clients offer a dark mode, and a dark icon on a transparent background can almost disappear on a dark screen.
  • Send test messages to the email clients and devices your recipients actually use, because image handling differs between them.

Permission to download is not permission to modify

The TikTok logo is a trademark. Being able to download a logo file, whether from an official kit or a third-party logo site, does not give you the right to recolor, redraw, stretch or crop it, combine it with other marks, or suggest that TikTok endorses or partners with you. Using the unaltered icon to point readers to your own account is the typical purpose in a signature. Free vector sites may host redrawn or outdated versions. Any license they offer covers at most their own file, never the trademark itself.

Gaps to resolve before you publish

The evidence for this article includes no confirmed TikTok specifications, so it does not cover minimum sizes, clear-space rules, exact color values, approved single-color versions or current usage terms. Check TikTok's current official brand guidance for those details before adding the icon to your signature. If your organization has its own email signature standards, follow them as well.
