Before you start

A Reddit logo change is easiest to assess when you have two matching views: the old mark and the new mark. The process is local and visual. You do not need a server or a third-party service. Save both versions as PNG, JPG, or WebP files before you begin. Keep a copy of the original image so you can return to it later.

Step-by-step instructions

Place the old and new Reddit logos in the same folder. Open the Logo Lab before-and-after tool and load the old logo as the before image and the new logo as the after image. Drag the comparison handle slowly from left to right to reveal the change.

Check the face, antenna, and wordmark separately. If the update is mostly a color shift, look for any change in the orange background or the white face. If the wordmark changed, compare the letter spacing and weight at the same display size.

Export the comparison as a PNG if you need to share the review. In the mockup preview, place the new mark on a small on-screen scene to judge how it works at avatar size. On phones, follow the ordered steps: choose the images, adjust the scene settings, open the result, then export.

Check the output

Confirm that the exported image contains both the old and new states with a visible split. At a reduced size, the antenna and the smile should still be readable. A successful check does not depend on pixel measurements; it means the change is visible in the side-by-side or swipe comparison.

Common problems and next steps

If the images do not align, crop both logos to the same canvas size before loading them. If the before-and-after handle jumps, use the keyboard arrows for smaller steps. For a color change, open the palette and contrast tool to compare the dominant colors and check that the new orange still provides enough difference from the white face.

A Reddit logo change is often judged in a small circle. If the detail survives at avatar size, the change is likely clear. If the mark blurs, the next step is to test a larger wordmark or a simplified face, not to add more detail.
